Alvaro de Almeida is a professional football/futsal coach with over 20+ years of experience coaching all levels of players from youth to professionals from both Brazil and Canada. His holistic approach to coaching has earned him a reputation as a coach who gets players results both on and off the soccer/futsal pitch.

Currently, he is the Academy Co-Director of the North Vancouver Football Club in British Columbia, Canada. He was the former Technical Director of the Brazilian Futsal Club in the Lower Mainland of BC before it closed due to Covid.
He has his Bachelor of Physical Education from Paulista University and is also a PE teacher.
Andrea Benton

Andrea Benton is a youth sports professional with over 15+ years of business/marketing experience for many consumer/business brands.
She is the former Communications Manager of the North Vancouver Football Club where she was responsible for both communications/equipment. Most recently, she was the General Manager of the Brazilian Futsal Club before it closed due to Covid. She was responsible for all administrative (finance, marketing, registrar etc) aspects of the Club including organizing tournaments, coaches clinics and many other initiatives with the Brazilian Futsal Club.
She’s been involved in youth sports since her two boys were involved in youth sports at the age of 5 years old. Andrea has also been a volunteer team manager for many years.
Andrea also has her Bachelor of Arts from the University of British Columbia and a Marketing Communications diploma from the British Columbia Institute of Technology, graduated with honours.
And yeah, she’s well aware that there is a distinct difference in length between her bio and Alvaro’s and that’s because she’s a no nonsense individual. She’s got a flair for just getting to the point and getting projects done b/c life is too short!
Why We Exist
1. Share our knowledge
Alvaro and Andrea have over 25+ years of experience in youth sports. We wanted to share our collective knowledge.
2. Provide different points of view
Alvaro is Brazilian, where football/futsal are king. Andrea is Canadian, where hockey is king. We wanted to share our different points of view, experiences on soccer/futsal in Canada.
3. Talk about the technical and business of football/futsal.
Football is the world’s largest sport. We wanted to have conversations about all aspects of the game.
